Warm/Cool/Neutral Outer Space Paintings
As review, we recap the cool and warm colors. A new group of colors, the neutral colors, are introduced to us. In our outer space paintings we should have at least one object from each color family.
Jasper Johns Printmaking
There is a lot that goes into print making, and we learn about it ALL! We also learn about a famous printmaking artist, Jasper Johns. He liked to include letters and numbers in his artwork, so we do the same. We also make our own printing plates in this project.
American Gothic
It is super awesome that we have a well known artist who comes from the state of Iowa - Grant Wood. We take a look at his most well known painting, American Gothic, and re create it in our own style.
Cardboard Loom Weaving
Weaving has been around for a long time! We learn about the different types of weaving and also learn all sorts of fancy new vocabulary - like "warp" and "weft." The end product is a weaving made by us that was made on loom, by US!
